The Artist
From a young age, Janine’s passion for art has been undeniable. After taking lessons during her final year at school, she decided to pursue a career as a fine artist in 2024. From hyper-realistic sketches of indigenous fauna and flora to family portraits, prints and more, she has dedicated countless hours to perfecting her craft.
As her career evolves, Janine is exploring new mediums and techniques, constantly pushing her creative boundaries. She recently showcased a collection of indigenous bird sketches and Pierneef-inspired prints at a Stellenbosch exhibition and a local craft market, marking an exciting milestone in her artistic career.
Original Works & Commissions
In addition to her fine art prints, Janine offers a limited selection of her original artworks for purchase upon request. She also welcomes commission enquiries for bespoke pieces, ranging from detailed bird portraits and botanical studies to family portraits, mural designs, and illustration work for brochures or books. The Work
Much of Janine’s inspiration comes from nature and the world around her. Her keen eye for detail is evident in her growing collection of botanical and indigenous bird sketches, as well as her intricate study of bees. She also draws influence from renowned South African artists like Pierneef, whose work inspired her to explore landscape etching and prints.
